Ebonsheare Book 2 update

I know it has been a long time since my last update.

This is quite hard to write, harder than I was expecting. I know there are quite a few Ebonsheare faithful who are anxiously awaiting the second book.

Unfortunately based on its current state, my current state, and life state in general, Ebonsheare book two is not going to be ready for release by the end of this year (2021).

My father died late last year (2020) of cancer and my grief has been present and raw. I have some health issues which will require surgery in October (2021). Along for the ride with health and grief is the new normal that is COVID-19. All of this has taken its toll on my mental health, and my physical health. Life issues in 2020 and 2021 has made it very difficult for me to be inspired and creative.

Just to let you all know, I am doing okay. I have a brilliant support team and I am slowly finding my peace again.

I could have rushed book two out, but that is a disservice to myself and you. I want Ebonsheare book two to improve on book one and to continue to flesh out the characters, wrap you in the story and put you in the driver’s seat of your imagination. It just doesn’t achieve that quite yet. The last thing I want is to disappoint you with a rushed book that I am not happy with.

I do not want to set another release date for book two, only to disappoint you again. I will keep you updated on the process though, so the next milestone will be when the second draft of book two is finished. I am a third of the way through the second draft at present. A third draft is likely before going to my editor – Peta Culverhouse. From a couple of edits, and a proofread to publishing, will be within 6 to 12 months.

Thank you for your continued support. I hope you will return to the journey when Ebonsheare Book Two is released.

Stay safe and healthy.

James.
